Fujitsu Ltd. announced its new MHZ2 BJ series of 2.5 inch hard disk drives that feature a rotational speed of 7200 RPM and capacities up to 320 GB.
Sales of the new series, designed for use in high-performance PCs such as high-end notebook computers and compact desktops, will begin at the end of June 2008.
The MHZ2 BJ series requires 2.3 W of power for read and write operations, making them environmentally friendly as well as power efficient, Fujitsu said.
They are also manufactured in compliance with the EU's restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances (RoHS) directive.
In addition, the series supports the serial advanced technology attachment (SATA) 3.0 Gbps interface for high-speed data transfers.
